"Pemberton Childcare - Nurturing Every Nature"

Yardley Forest Nursery is nestled on the edge of the magical Epping Forest. Our building is a large, old Lodge House with its own impressive grounds of half an acre, enabling us to care for up to 48 children.

It’s not always easy choosing a nursery. Entrusting your child to someone else’s care is a big decision. So we’re keen to give you the clearest picture of what everyone here at Yardley Forest Nursery is all about. We want you to have all the information you need to make the right decision for your child and for you.

It’s our job to make every child feel welcome, safe, cared for, paid attention to, understood, able to express their unique personalities and celebrated for who they are.

"Children arrive happily at the nursery and they are keen to try out a range of activities" Ofsted Report 2013

We make sure your child is free to explore, discover, learn and grow. We help them have fun and make friends. And we’re always there to wipe away a tear if they get  the wobbles.

Welcome to Yardley Forest

We pride ourselves on having more and higher qualified staff than the nursery sector average. We handpick every member of our team for their experience, personal qualities and attitude, making sure that we all work well together in our happy and diverse nursery setting.

Our key person system ensures every child is supported by a key person at all times.  It is hugely successful in helping children to settle and thrive, so that they get the most from their nursery experience.

"New children settle very well because staff are warm, friendly and attentive to their needs. Also, key persons stay close by for in the event that babies and new children need comfort and reassurance" Ofsted Report 2013

Through personal consultations and daily interaction, we listen to everything children and parents want  to share and act accordingly.

Our highly supportive approach to childcare includes a free settling in period for every child. By removing time and cost constraints, we want to make sure that parents do not feel pressured into rushing this important process.  We want to do everything we can to help each child settle in their own time and way.

We strive to be outstanding in everything we do, and we put particular emphasis on helping children to learn. Our approach is child led, encouraging everyone from babies to pre-school children to follow their interests and supporting each one  in their journey.

We also understand that every child is unique, so we plan and research the most helpful and rewarding activities for each peer group. Using only the highest quality resources we go beyond standard practise in enabling children to learn, grow and develop at their own speed.

We use the Early Years Foundation Stage to support the planning and delivery of our curriculum, and this is further enhanced by our Forest Schools programme, music classes, yoga sessions, language classes and other learning-focused experiences.

"Staff plan a broad range of purposeful activities and experiences that motivate children to discover, learn and have fun. This is because staff know about children's likes, needs and interests.

Staff also consistently carry out observations and assessments of children's achievements. They also use their notes to plan for the children's next steps, which they successfully link to activity plans. Consequently, children are progressing well in their learning and development" Ofsted Report 2013

We use trained observation techniques, clear assessments and structured planning to create a complete picture of your child’s experiences and wellbeing. To keep you fully informed, we securely store daily updates and development information using the respected Connect Childcare software.

You can easily and safely access this information at the end of every nursery day by downloading the Parent Zone app to your smartphone or other internetconnected devices.

You’ll find details of your child’s daily sleep routine, food and drink intake, nappy changes, activities  and progress, with staff observations  and photos.

Just as importantly, we encourage face to face interaction between you and your child’s key person, plus other members of our team. Daily chats, however brief, can make a big difference to everyone’s wellbeing.

" Children benefit from the praise and encouragement they receive from staff, enabling them to develop good self-esteem" Ofsted Report 2013

We believe that movement, nature, the outdoors and physical activity are hugely valuable to children’s wellbeing, so they are central to our learning and play.  From Forest School activities led by our trained practitioners to indoor music, language and yoga workshops, we encourage every child to get involved,  get active and have fun.

Whether indoors or outside, our focus is on interacting with nature with play and activities that use wooden toys and natural materials.

We also enrich daily nursery life by providing a variety of exciting and often unique opportunities for children. These include learning languages such as Mandarin or Spanish, yoga sessions, dance and music classes, football, multi skills and educational talks (such as visits from exotic animals and their handlers).

"Parents comment favourably about the care their children receive from the nursery. They say that their children are developing well and that the staff are welcoming and friendly.

Parents also praise that their children bring work home from the setting and that they also see their child's art work on wall display" Ofsted Report 2013
