Welcome to Working Mums Daycare & Pre-School in Battersea, London.  We are part of the Childcare and Learning Group Ltd, altogether the group owns 15 nurseries based in London, Gilford and Surrey.

Housed in a charming period building, which was formerly a court house, our home from home environment offers excellent opportunities for children from newborn to 5 years to play and learn throughout our individually designed areas.

Our approach to childcare is simple; to provide a loving, nurturing, safe environment filled with warmth and promise where individual’s talents are encouraged to flourish and grow.

At Working Mums Daycare and Pre-School we believe that “every child is a unique child who is constantly learning”.

We aim to make each child’s early education experiences positive and meaningful. We know that children learn best in a welcoming, warm, secure and caring environment, where they are able to experiment and have fun, take risks, learn from their experiences and grow in confidence.

Reading Area

Each Keyworker will teach and support your child through observations, assessments and planning to ensure that the activities are suited to your child’s unique needs and interests.

We use a safe online interactive learning diary (ILD) to carry out observations and assessments. The ILD has been designed to support home/school communication to allow parents to take part in their children’s progress The ILD is updated regularly.

When parents log in they will be able to access their children’s observations and outcomes, together with any photographic and video evidence. They will also be able to access reports and upload observations made at home.

Our chefs provide a diverse menu of balanced and nutritious home cooked meals which we believe encourages healthy eating habits and influences the child’s long term relationship with food.

We will work alongside parents to ensure the meals meet individual requirements (including the weaning process, specific dietary requirements and food allergies and intolerances).

Mealtimes at our nurseries are fun and educational. We try to replicate the family environment and encourage the children to set the table, share and serve food and develop fine motor skills by using cutlery.

Age ranges are indicative but are dependent upon individual circumstances and development.

From 0 - 14 months - “Loving, nurturing, stimulating in a beautiful safe environment”

Your baby is special to us. Your baby’s routine is important to ensure the continuity from home to nursery.

Our baby rooms are spacious and filled with bright soft furnishings and wonderful age appropriate resources.  The staff ratio in the baby room is 1:3 where each child is given a Key Person.

At the end of each day the Key Person will give you feedback, both verbally and in the form of a daily diary, keeping you up to date with all the activities in which your child has been involved.

Creative Area

From 12 - 24 months - “Wonder, Curiosity, Adventure & Fascination”

We introduce activities to meet their natural curiosity, growing energy and development, whether it’s pouring at a water table, stacking tumbling blocks or playing with shapes and puzzles.

We encourage exploration and introduce skills such as:
• Sensory and tactile skills
• Gross motor skills
• Communication and language development
• Personal, social and emotional development

In an environment filled with encouragement, your child will experience the early successes he or she needs to grow and develop independence. Your child will have fun playing and learning alongside new friends.
From 22 - 36 months - “Communicating, expressing and understanding”

In these years the foundation for learning is laid by making it fun and by recognising that personal, emotional and social development are key to future education.

The Key Worker creates individual plans through a range of structured adult led activities and child initiated play to reflect the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

The environment reflects the starting point of early Pre-School routines using workshop areas such as our roleplay, construction, book corner and art and craft areas. The children also have access to our outdoor classroom throughout the day, so are stimulated all day long.
