Welcome to Kinder Day Nursery in Stechford, Birmingham. Joining our nursery is your child’s first important step in becoming part of our care and learning community. We have created a warm and welcoming atmosphere where fun and enjoyment go hand in hand with learning and discovery.

Many of our children are from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds, and that mix of languages, experiences and learning patterns makes our nursery a unique, fun, and educational place to send your child.

Our nursery motto is “We All Smile in the Same Language” and strongly believe that all children should have access to nursery places and services irrespective of gender, race, religion, colour or creed.

Amongst our staff we have a wealth of knowledge and experience in early years and ensure all staff attend regular courses to reinforce and keep up to date with any changes that may have been introduced.

"Staff are warm and caring and, as a result, children settle well and thrive". Ofsted Report 2015

As security is of paramount importance to us, we have provided the nursery entrance with electronic gates and an intercom system for the parents and visitors to access. We have also installed CCTV in the children’s rooms for added security in which the management can monitor at all times.

Welcome To Our Nursery

Cherry Unit Play Room

We have the Baby Room which is also known as the “Cherry unit” catering for children from birth up to two years. It features a sensory play area, creative play area, sleeping facilities, dining area, physical play area and its own changing facilities.

We follow the EYFS to support the growth and development of each child, and have a designated Senco officer as well as staff being trained in first aid and health and safety.

We have created, along with our dedicated staff, a happy and safe atmosphere with excellent facilities for the children to explore in attractive and welcoming surroundings. We strongly encourage that every child has a settling in period which is tailored to meet their individual needs.

"Children's behaviour is consistently good because there are clear expectations of good behaviour and staff promote these expectations through positive praise". Ofsted Report 2015

As every child is unique we find that some children may need next to no time to settle into nursery life where as others may require a lengthy period of time. We recognise this and ensure that your child is given the time and attention needed.
The 2 – 3’s Room is also known as the “Raspberry Room” has plenty of equipment to promote the independence of each child. This includes their own art and craft area, play room, classroom, home corner, library area and sand and water play.

We provide exciting opportunities for children to explore, which helps to create the right balance needed for children to progress within their development.

We know the importance of nurturing children's developments and will plan for outside agencies and outings to assist with their knowledge and understanding, relating to their current planning activities.

"Staff are well qualified and skilled teachers. They support children effectively so that they all experience positive and challenging learning experiences". Ofsted Report 2015

Pre School Numeracy Activity

Welcome to Pre School. We are known as the “Pineapple Room” which is a large open plan classroom that has been set out for the children from 3 years plus to access all areas and equipment independently. Children have free flow access to the resources and the outdoor area which encourages, good social integration and offers opportunities and facilities to promote independence and development.

The team works together to plan activities that are educational and stimulating for the children. Many activities are planned around the children’s own interests. Focused activities can take place in small groups or on a 1 to 1 basis where necessary.

Within preschool we have IT equipment with a range of educational software specially chosen to be the perfect complement to the rest of the curriculum.

Our approach is very practical and sensory-focused, enabling children to learn through experience and impressions; they are guided rather than taught, which stimulates their intellect and promotes cognitive skills, such as the ability to classify experiences.

In this way a child's understanding of the world is built up, rather than imposed, and this is a great advantage to their development.
We have a superb secure outdoor play area which we have designed for all age groups to enjoy. There is a shaded area where the younger age groups can enjoy the lovely weather, along with purpose built resources to encourage their development including, climbing frames, cars and bikes, and dens to explore.

Outside play is not just an area to let off some steam and promote physical exercise. It is a large area where children can use their imagination on a grander scale involving children of all ages. It is as much a physical development area as it is a social learning environment.

We invite parents into the setting on regular occasions throughout the year for a variety of fun parent workshops, where parents get to spend some fun time at nursery with their child (these are always very popular events!).

"Staff work successfully with parents and carers, to ensure children receive the support they need to make consistently good progress in their learning and development". Ofsted Report 2015

We also hold Easter bonnet parades, Christmas sing a long productions and a fabulous pre school graduation ceremony (all bring a tissue events).
